The Break is a place to find playfulness, connection, and a true local experience. As the first boutique hotel in Narragansett, Rhode Island, The Break’s decor and amenities will both impress you and welcome you to relax and breathe easy – “Rhody” Style.
Centrally located in the Point Judith area of Narragansett, we’re the perfect base for your Rhode Island beach getaway. Convenient to all Narragansett beaches, The Point Judith Lighthouse, the Block Island Ferry, and a short drive from Newport, Jamestown and Wickford, our accommodations are an ideal destination for anytime of the year for those looking for an authentic Rhode Island experience.

Our shared facilities at The Break are designed for ultimate relaxation and enjoyment. Take a dip in our year-round heated saltwater pool, unwind in the cozy sauna, or head up to our ocean-view rooftop bar for refreshing cocktails and stunning sunsets. Whether you're looking to relax or socialize, we have the perfect spaces for you.
POOL
Enjoy year-round relaxation in our outdoor saltwater pool, heated to 92 degrees for your comfort.
Our pool is available exclusively for our overnight guests from 8am - 8pm during the week & 8am - 9pm on Fridays & Saturdays.
Spa patrons are welcome to use the pool 1 hour prior to their spa services only.
SAUNA
Our cozy outdoor sauna offers the perfect way to unwind and detox after a day by the beach or exploring Narragansett. Located on our pool deck, our sauna offers a serene space to relax, rejuvenate, and let the warmth melt away stress, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Exclusively available for overnight guests & spa patrons only.
BAR
Our bistro bar is the perfect spot to sip on craft cocktails while visiting Narragansett. With a laid-back yet lively atmosphere, it’s an ideal place to unwind after a day at the beach or to enjoy an evening with friends, surrounded by coastal charm. Currently open at 3pm on Fridays & Saturdays, our bistro bar is open to the public & our overnight guests.

INTERIOR DESIGN
Our Narragansett hotel’s interior design is a key part of our “vintage beach community” brand. While our furnishings and features embrace Narragansett’s seaside vibe, they also tap into the surfer nostalgia of the late 60’s — when local surfing legend, Peter Pan, burst onto the scene and put Narragansett on the map. Mid-century flare blends with bold, modern textiles to create a Narragansett hotel that is fun and hip, but also warm and welcoming.
Crafting this look with owners, Jim and Becky Durkin (also of Durkin Cottage Realty), were architect Frank Karpowicz of Frank Karpowicz Architects Interior designer Jocelyn Chiappone of Digs Design Company provided the vision to bridge the classic and the modern, the vintage and the eclectic, the elegant and the savvy. Bob Poulin of RAP Builders and his team were the “boots on the ground” making the plans a reality.
